A gentle procedure that awakens and strengthens the body’s capacity to heal
Do you have chronic or acute injuries?
Do you suffer from pain?
I can help.
9 out of 10 people can ease their pain
it is neuropathic in nature.
Neuropathic pain is a chronic pain condition and usually the result of, or accompanied by, an injury, surgery, disease, or infection. It is, however, not directly caused by it. The body sends pain signals through nerves because the nerves are over-excited (as a side effect of the injury or illness).
You will usually experience one (or more) of the following:
- shooting, burning, or stabbing pain
- tingling and numbness
- “pins and needles”
- pain that occurs without a trigger
- pain that comes and goes or moves
- pain caused by experiences that are typically not painful, such as rubbing against something or being in cold temperatures
- chronic sensation of feeling unpleasant
Acupuncture and manual therapy address the problem at the CORE. That is ...
Therefore, the pain can be relieved by addressing the nerves. When pain is gone, the function and the range of motion can improve drastically.
Did you know that your nerves would die last?
This is why you feel pain - the nerves constantly fire up. As long as the nerves are functioning - you can help the body heal from WITHIN.
Chasing the pain or killing it with medication hardly works. Over time the body gets used to the chemicals that numb you and stop reacting, while the problem is still there. At the core of dysfunction. THE NERVES.
Your body is naturally powerful to mend and heal, but when a part of it gets stuck into an inhibition or nerve excitement, it needs help to overcome the challenge.
The solution is to encourage the body to heal within by sending the appropriate signals.
Acupuncture, manual therapy, cupping or heat therapy are modalities to effectively stimulate both blood and lymph circulation and interact with the nerves and the fascia layer. (Fascia is the web of connective tissue that embeds and stabilises all internal organs, muscles and tissues.) This changes the brain chemistry and activates our natural healing mode, among others boosting the production of endorphins and enkephalins - our natural pain relief messengers.
Acupuncture is a safe and effective natural therapy that is used to awaken the body’s natural processes to ease pain and encourage healing. It is one of the foundations of the Chinese Medicine. It involves inserting extremely fine, sterile, single use needles into specific points in the body. These points have been found effective in relieving pain or for the treatment of specific health issues.
An acupuncture treatment generally involves multiple therapies and can include elements of tuina massage, cupping, gua sha and heat therapy (or moxibustion – burning of the dried mugwort plant) as well as acupuncture needles. Multiple sessions are needed to address the issue well and encourage the wellbeing.
Acupuncture is based on the concept of Qi that flows through channels along the human body. These pathways are correlated with the vascular and nervous systems. They are interconnected with the internal organs at a deeper level.
The basic understanding is that everything is composed of two complementary (but interdependent) forces – Yin and Yang. These are considered as qualities within body on various levels. For instance a Yin aspect of an organ can be seen as its storage ability, while the Yang aspect will be about its activity, how well it works. Chinese Medicine identifies that disease can be caused by an imbalance with these two forces within the body.
The insertion of needles at the appropriate locations acts to restore balance and helps the body to return to homeostasis. Acupuncture adjusts the flow of Qi (and blood) in the body leading it to areas where it is deficient and draining it where it is excessive. In this way, acupuncture restores the harmonious balance of Body and Mind.
RESPONSE TO TREATMENT
Each person is unique. The response to treatment varies. Some people experience a good improvement after the first treatment, while others may need a few treatments before seeing improvement.
In general, acute conditions may be resolved in as little as 2 or 3 treatments. Chronic conditions often need more sessions, usually combined with cupping or tuina, before a good progress is experienced. Usually, 2-3 treatments per week are recommended for the first two weeks, then once a week, after which the sessions are spaced further apart.
You are welcome to come for one off treatment to find out how you like it.
The use of a holistic approach enables a treatment of the whole person. My experience has shown that most people find unexpected benefits above and beyond their initial reason for seeking treatment. Examples include improved sleep, digestion or appetite; improved mental clarity; improved energy, inner balance and improved sense of well-being. In short, they make a big step towards their Zesty Life.
Appointments last 40min for kids and up to 1h for adults. Some cases require a short insertion of needles, 10-15min, while other cases need 30-40min. Please allow additional 20-30min for the initial consultation.

Acupuncture is used to alleviate pain and to treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions. It works powerfully by adjusting the nervous system, improving blood flow, stimulating stem cell release to injury sites, and helping various body systems to become active.
Facial rejuvenation involves face acupuncture, massage and a healing mask. It can reduce wrinkles, eliminate fine lines, lift sagging skin and improve skin colour and texture.
Herbal medicine offers a safe and effective therapy that is used to awaken the body’s natural processes and encourage healing. Herbs work truly powerfully to correct imbalances between organs: address both deficiencies and excesses (e.g. oedema) and facilitate well-being.
TUINA MEDICAL Massage
Tuina massage softens tense muscles, mobilises joints and tendons and gets the blood and lymph moving. It works on the nervous system and improves the functioning of the internal organs.
Cupping improves circulation, eases pain and inflammation, and achieve relaxation. It may work as a deep-tissue massage which is often beneficial for various injuries.
Gua sha healing massage can lead to an immediate relief from pain, stiffness, fever, cough or nausea. It works well for acute and chronic organ disorders.
Singing bowls make sound that reach into every cell of the body giving a feeling of harmony, relaxation and joy. This is effective for people with an active lifestyle, resigned, depressed, burned or stressed-out.
