GUA SHA Massage

Eases pain and stiffness, effective in chronic and acute internal disorders

Gua Sha

Gua Sha, called also scraping massage, is a healing massage therapy that uses a smooth edged tool to repeatedly scrape an area of lubricated skin. The goal is to intentionally create transitory therapeutic petechiae called ‘sha’. The sha represents leakage of the blood in the subcutaneous tissue (beneath the skin). Raising sha opens pores, improves blood flow and removes blood stagnation.

A single gua sha treatment can lead to an immediate relief from pain, stiffness, fever, cough or nausea. It works well for acute and chronic organ disorders.

The description of Gua Sha as a scrapping massage does not sound exciting perhaps, but the experience of Gua Sha is in fact liberating. Gua sha acts deeper than the cupping or cupping massage does, and the freedom of movement that follows a treatment is simply great.

I use specially dedicated Gua Sha tools, made either from jade or buffalo horn:

Please be aware that the Sha appear like bruising and will resolve within a week time.

Swimming or exposure to wind and cold is contrindicated after the treatment.

Arya Nielsen, PhD, wrote a scientific book on the incredible benefits of this massage: Gua sha: A Traditional Technique for Modern Practice. A few articles to study are available on PubMed.

Acupuncture is used to alleviate pain and to treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions. It works powerfully by adjusting the nervous system, improving blood flow, stimulating stem cell release to injury sites, and helping various body systems to become active.

Facial rejuvenation

Facial rejuvenation involves face acupuncture, massage and a healing mask. It can reduce wrinkles, eliminate fine lines, lift sagging skin and improve skin colour and texture.

Herbal medicine offers a safe and effective therapy that is used to awaken the body’s natural processes and encourage healing. Herbs work truly powerfully to correct imbalances between organs: address both deficiencies and excesses (e.g. oedema) and facilitate  well-being.

Tuina massage softens tense muscles, mobilises joints and tendons and gets the blood and lymph moving. It works on the nervous system and improves the functioning of the internal organs.

Cupping  improves circulation, eases pain and inflammation, and achieve relaxation. It may work as a deep-tissue massage which is often beneficial for various injuries.

Gua sha

Gua sha healing massage can lead to an immediate relief from pain, stiffness, fever, cough or nausea. It works well for acute and chronic organ disorders.

Singing bowls make sound that reach into every cell of the body giving a feeling of harmony, relaxation and joy. This is effective for people with an active lifestyle, resigned, depressed, burned or stressed-out.
