I wish I couldn’t be pain-free.
Said no one. EVER.
BECAUSE one wants to enjoy life.
PAIN
9 out of 10 people can ease their pain
BECAUSE
acupuncture can help them.
9 out of 10 people experience pain which is neuropathic in nature.
Neuropathic pain is a chronic pain condition and usually the result of, or accompanied by, an injury, surgery, disease, or infection. It is, however, not directly caused by it. The body sends pain signals through nerves because the nerves are over-excited (as a side effect of the injury or illness).
You will usually experience one (or more) of the following:
– shooting, burning, or stabbing pain
– tingling and numbness
– “pins and needles”
– pain that occurs without a trigger
– pain that comes and goes or moves
– pain caused by experiences that are typically not painful, such as rubbing against something or being in cold temperatures
– chronic sensation of feeling unpleasant
Acupuncture and manual therapy, backed up by current research, address the problem at the CORE. That is …
THE NERVES.
Therefore, the pain can be relieved thanks to acupuncture by addressing the nerves. When pain is gone, the function and the range of motion in the body can be returned.
Did you know that your nerves die last?
This is why you feel pain – the nerves constantly fire up. As long as the nerves are functioning – you can help the body heal from WITHIN.
Chasing the pain or killing it with medication hardly works. Over time the body gets used to the chemicals that numb you and stop reacting, while the problem is still there. At the core of dysfunction. THE NERVES.
The SOLUTION
Your body is naturally powerful to mend and heal, but when a part of it gets stuck into an inhibition or nerve excitement, it needs help to overcome the challenge.
The solution is to encourage the body to heal within by sending the appropriate signals.
Acupuncture, manual therapy, cupping, heat lamp therapy or healing sound are all modalities to effectively stimulate both blood and lymph circulation and interact with nerves and the fascia layer (the web of connective tissue that embeds and stabilises all internal organs, muscles and tissues). This changes the brain chemistry and activates our natural healing mode, among others boosting the production of endorphins and enkephalins – our natural pain relief messengers.
FERTILITY
Fertility begins with creativity.
THE PLANS
Your Body and Mind are naturally powerful to mend and heal.
I respect that and help it happen.
I offer effective therapies to ease pain, both physical and emotional, and help people get unstuck.
I use acupuncture and manual therapy. They do not only encourage the flow of blood and nutrients in unobstructed ways, providing nourishment, but also help transform the stuck thoughts and feelings and let go of the emotional burden.
You can choose to invest in the MAINTAIN plan:
- Loosen up: relax sore muscles and get a deep rest
- Relax: reduce stress, focus better and get quality sleep to become a well-rounded and happy person.
- Invigorate: improve circulation, release fatigue and recharge
- Boost: boost your immunity
You can choose the HEAL plan:
- Get unstuck: ease emotional burden, chronic worry, or fatigue, anxiety or depression
- Regain Ease: relieve pain and improve mobility
- Sleep Well: forget insomnia and rejuvenate in your sleep
- Trust Your Gut: improve the digestion and absorption of nutrients
- Go Zesty: to push yourself and radically improve your performance in the chosen area: be it internal focus for creative work, or the functioning of the body for sport and endurance performance
- Ladies’ Wellness: become a healthy and strong woman: regulate menstruation, boost fertility, or ease menopause
You can also choose the SPARK AND GLOW plan – to rejuvenate your skin and tone your facial muscles, and to discover the beauty within.
BECAUSE
The natural methods of Chinese medicine combined with western medical knowledge allow for creating a synergistic effect on wellbeing. The two paradigms support each other and guide my treatments to become effective.
My mission is to provide you with the most effective complementary care possible.
THERAPIES
A massage is a basic healing therapy to ease physical and emotional tension. It involves various muscle and tissue manipulations such as strokes and pressure techniques to improve blood flow, relax muscles, stretch ligaments, manipulate joints or remove waste from tissues.
One of the discriminating features of a healing massage is the quality of touch that communicates loving attention, understanding and anticipation of the unknown. Essentially, it is the awakening touch that comes with a strong intent, as it happens in Tui na, Cupping or Gua Sha massage. When combined with the knowledge about fascia and connective tissue as well as that of nervous and vascular systems (as affected by Acupuncture), it stands up to the promise of liberation from pain, stagnation and stress.
Singing Bowl Massage helps one relax and calm the nervous system.
The therapies offered here are:
ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture works powerfully by adjusting the nervous system, improving blood flow, stimulating stem cell release to injury sites, and helping various body systems to become active.
Even if some slight discomfort is initially experienced, this eases into a deep relaxation or even a rejuvanating nap.
Facial rejuvenation

Facial acupuncture relies on inserting super fine needles shallowly into the wrinkles. This method can reduce wrinkles, eliminate fine lines, lift sagging skin and improve skin colour and texture.
There may be a slight initial discomfort followed by a deep relaxation, as the stimulation of the peripheral nerves will improve blood flow to the skin and head.
TUINA / Massage Therapy

Tuina medical massage involves the rubbing and kneading of soft tissues and muscles, together with acupressure and finger work, as well as assisted manipulations (similar to the ones in osteopathy) to remove blockages along the sheaths of connective tissues. It works on the nervous system and the wellbeing of the internal organs as well.

GUA SHA

The goal is to intentionally create transitory therapeutic petechiae called ‘sha’. The sha represents leakage of the blood in the subcutaneous tissue (beneath the skin). Raising sha opens pores, improves blood flow and removes blood stagnation.
A single gua sha treatment can lead to an immediate relief from pain, stiffness, fever, cough or nausea. It works well for acute and chronic organ disorders.
Lifestyle / NUTRITION ADVICE

Proper nutrition and herbs are one of the most effective methods of improving internal organ function. Food choices can be optimised to improve the functioning of specific organs both by foods to eat and those to restrain from.

Coaching and Advice

MY GOAL IS TO…
- help you heal and be well
- support the process of change and
- encourage you to live a happy life
HEALTH
It comes naturally when communication channels are open and informative between the Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual aspects of Selves.
It is never a fixed state but always changing – a dance in life.
PAIN
Chinese medicine recognises how blood and lymphs (and energy) are trapped and discriminates between the organs to find out which ones are contributing. Once the cause of disturbance is understood, a treatment to restore wellness can be applied effectively.
WelLNESS
My goal is to help from inside out. Your reservoir of wellness can be restored thanks to the therapies offered here. It is the quality of sound, needle, touch and listening, together with the strong intent, that will make the difference for you.
What THE cLIENTS say
and why they get better
“I have had two sessions with Ela so far, which involved a detailed chat about my health and my medical issues, a relaxing and soothing massage followed by acupuncture. Ela is very welcoming and professional, and was incredibly informative, she talked me through the process and why it works the way it does. She also gave me some really useful information on some herbal remedies for me to try out at home. I certainly feel that I benefited from the sessions, and have already recommended her to friends of mine.”
